I designed and developed every layer independently: frontend in vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with a serverless backend deployed on Vercel. Internationalization is handled through a custom-built translation system, and the app is installable as a Progressive Web App with offline support via a registered service worker.
The AI integration connects to OpenAI's GPT-4.1-mini through a protected serverless function. Security includes origin allowlisting, rate limiting per IP, and server-side API key management — the key is never exposed to the client. The oracle responds with empathetic, language-appropriate readings.
Each of the six thematic decks — Baroque, Surrealist, Dadaist, Expressionist, Biomechanical, Medieval, and others — features 22 AI-generated Major Arcana cards created using style-directed prompting. I selected and directed the visual style for each deck, referencing artists like Caravaggio, Francis Bacon, H.R. Giger, and Hieronymus Bosch.
Card interaction uses a CSS 3D flip animation built with perspective and transform-style: preserve-3d. The deck gallery features JavaScript-driven image carousels. Each deck has its own CSS theme, applying per-deck overrides that adjust typography and layout to match its distinct visual identity.
The project is live, actively expanded, and currently scoped for monetization, user accounts, and a dedicated domain. It demonstrates full-stack ownership, UX sensibility, AI integration, and the ability to see a personal creative concept through to a production-ready, scalable product.
